Libellule
Handcrafted jewelry by Caroline Dewey. I began metal smithing and lapidary in September 2008. This gallery is an online photo journal of my progress, from the very beginning! Libellule means "dragonfly" in French... it is a name given to me by an old friend-- a French painter who saw my dragonfly tattoo and said "I will now call you Libellule". The dragonfly symbolizes going past self-created illusions that limit our growing and changing. Dragonflies are a symbol of the sense of self that comes with maturity. The dragonfly represents not only my recent spiritual growth (as a reiki student) but also my growth as an artist. Much of my inspiration comes from my fiance, Gonzo, and the many artists that I have worked with at my gem and jewelry shop, as well as the beauty of stones and everything around me. I also find inspiration from the talented artists on Metalworkers. Thanks for taking this art form to a new level! Please feel free to leave comments, criticism, any tips that will help me grow! Thank you for looking... namaste
