(Wire Wrap Jewelry)

Evidence of past civilizations *** SOLD ***

I really like patina finishes and have used them on my fabricated work a good few times at this point. I was working on this piece and decided to see what it would look like to patina the whole wrap, sheet and wire alike. This may be one of the first times someone has tried that in this style of wire wrapping. I like it a lot and have gotten a lot of positive input on it from friends.

Contains:
- Rhodolite garnet cab (Thailand?)
- Faceted blue apatite (Brazil)
- Ruby cab (Moguk Valley, Burma)

Thanks so much for looking at my work! :)

liver of sulfer? I like it on the metalwork (well it's not my thing but whatever!) but i think it's too much with the wirework personally. I've seen alot of people doing this sort of finish and it just makes the piece look dirty in my opinion.

keep up the good work though. I'd be rocking the fabrication for Tuscon but I'm having trouble with the propane connections! everything else is straight and ready to go!

to each their own
so far I've gotten a more dramatic response from people on this piece than I have on anything else I've done recently so you obviously cannot please every person with every piece.

Acetylene is a more widely used gas for silver smithing than propane by the way.

Fantastic!
Natty,
I've been looking through this site for a long time wondering why no one else has used LOS on their wraps. I think it adds an extra dimension to the work ... it really shows off the detail in the wire work and it gives the peice an ancient/aged look. I don't think it makes them look 'dirty' at all. Trust your own artistic soul ... I like the path you're walkin'. ;) I think it looks fab!
