Bimba's Lament

  « The Archive

(Wire Wrap Pendants)

Bimba's Lament This piece tells the story of Bimba's Lament, which is a poem about Bimba, thje Buddha's wife. Before Siddartha was enlightened, he and his wife were royalty in India, and he gave her a necklace of gold with rubies, sapphires, emeralds and diamonds. Bimba should have been happy, and on the surface she was. On the inside however, she was very sad and depressed, unfullfilled by wealth and and gifts, and this she kept hidden and unknown to others.
This wrap contains 18k Gold and Fine Silver wrapped Ruby (Burma), Sapphire (Burma), Emerald (Muzo, Columbia), and a Champagne "Sugar Cube" Diamond (Africa).
The backside contains lessor-known stones which are dark to represent Bimba's secret unhappiness. They are Rutile (Brazil), Fire Agate (Arizona?), Uvite (Brazil), and Faceted Sphene (Pakistan).

nice work bro, looks solid as a rock. I like the backside too, that molten rock is dope! the whole thing looks especially cool with gold. Keep up the tight work.
