Cold and heat joined sterling silver metal work by Rachael Szmajda, currently working out of Vallejo, California. I am a fashion designer with ten years of experience, and jewelry designer with three years under the belt.
I grew up in Washington DC, graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelors in Fine Arts concentrating in fashion design, then shot out here to the west coast, San Francisco Bay Area.
All of my chainmaille is completely handmade. I wrap wire on dowel rods and cut each jumpring myself using a jeweler's saw. I have also recently taken to making all of my own clasps. It feels good not to have to rely on manufacturers too much. You can see my fashion designs and much more at: http://loki.ws/~nofeers
Just happy to have a place to post, admire, gain inspiration, and get some feedback. If you have any interest in any of my pieces, please feel free to email me at: EleMentalFashion@gmail.com

Carnelian cubes, citrine rough cuts, and quartz centerpieced single strand necklace. The groups of stones are spaced out by sterling chain. The one strand is 50 inches long and with no clasp has the capability to be wrapped around the neck three times to create the look shown. Wear it how you want to!
The piece comes with an enhancer, which is a hinged ring that snaps closed once put through one link of each strand at the back of the neck. This enables the heavy quartz to stay above the other two strands without being weighed down below. But you could wear it low too! Versatility piece. Asking $150

So, I've taken on chainmail. There's something about the medatative repetition of it all that has me stuck on it.
One of these bracelets has a herkimer diamond in the middle, and the other one with a stone is a green garnet. And no, they aren't beads, they are placed in there in the weaving process, and no they wont fall out, unless highly provoked.

Since I now have no access to an aceteline tank and torch and etcetera, I have reverted back to cold fusion.
I was recently gifted Jason Burruss's Brazilian Fire opal and lemon quartz wrap at Summer Camp and have been truly inspired.
Let me know what you think.

Found Object Project Bezel set pieces of glass I found in the alley and prong set slidable and removable clear plastic square. you could stick other things in there. The base is hollow with an inset ring. Built from sheet silver. Little did I know that if you try to solder a hollow box completely shut it will explode in the heating process. Luckily I had unintentionally left two tiny holes in a seam and it oozed acid bath for a week.
