RamStar's Gallery

RamStar's Gallery

All of my pieces are hand-fabricated silver. I learned to make jewelry while at CCAD in Columbus,OH. I have been making jewelry for about three years. All my jewelry deals with different ways to set and display crystals in their raw or cut forms. I really enjoy making jewelry that has a function, a lot of my pieces open and certain crystals can be removed for meditation! I like the owner to know that there is something the viewer can't see, it makes a piece more personable !!! I really enjoy metalsmithing and creating things that all people can enjoy, I hope you like what I've done!!!

Love, Light, and Movement, We Are All Vibrations !!

Love, Light, and Movement, We Are All Vibrations !!

This is a piece that is beyond special to me, I finished it on the night of the full moon/ lunar eclipse. When I designed this piece the week before I designed it with the tourmaline pillar on the other side, I was up late one night workin on it and I soldered the first piece on backwards!!! OOOOPPSS The day after I finished the piece I was with a bunch of good friends I hadn't seen in a while, and one of them pointed to my pendant and sayed, " Wow, it's love!" My reply was, "Sure, I made it with a lot of love!" and she said," No, Look at it, it says LOVE!!! And there it was, i hedn't even noticed it, but sure enough, It says LOVE!!! I was blown away, I hadn't even seen it!!! The next morning I was layin on my friends floor and I looked at the date on the side of the piece. It was the first time I hade ever put the month and the year on a piece, 3/07 !!! Well on the piece when you look at the date upside down, It also spells out LOVE !!! All of the stones are Tourmaline, the pillar and the cut stones are

The Stairs of Light

The Stairs of Light

This piece came shortly after the LOVE piece, I acctually designed this piece the morning I noticed that the date said love as well. But it is one of my best, it has five Tourmaline. The center piece is from the Kunar mine in Afganistan, the fanned out pieces are from the Cruzero mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil, and the cut is Afgani. Overall I am happy with the way this came out, and I hope you like it. This one is- Sold !!!

The left crystal is a Sapo Tourmaline, from the top right is Blue Apitite, Purple Scapolite, and Yellow Heliodor, the bottom triangle is Bytroidal Tourmaline. This is a new style, hope you like. This is definatly -for sale- !!!

A Framed Heart

A Framed Heart

This is a little slice of Tourm that I found in Tuscon, only one with a heart. I picked it up not knowing what I wasgoing to d with it, but I think this worked out better than I anticipated. Its about the size or a penny and I made it to do exactly what it is doing, sitting there!!! Hope ya like !!!

Lapis, Azurite Inlay

Lapis, Azurite Inlay

Quarts Urn

Quarts Urn

I made this piece about two years ago while I was at CCAD. It was a very ambitious piece at the time. It is a hollow construction with a removable cork to store oils or liquid of any kind !!! It also has a removable quarts crystal that is in the center of the piece. This is one of my favorite pieces from my senior thesis show!!! Hope you like, and again, if this sparks some ideas get ahold of me and we'll make it happen!!!!

Ode to Shakedown

Ode to Shakedown

This is a piece that manifested it's self last summer. When I got the aquamarine that is on the back side the color immediately made me think of the dancing skeleton!!! It wasn't until the last two weeks that I sat down and made it happen. I am very happy with the way this piece ended, when I started it I had no idea the rock was going to fold out on a hinge, it just turned out being the only way to set such amazing stone while still being able to remove it from the piece!!! I also made the chain to match the pendant, the chain has four tourmaline spinners on each side. The entire piece with the chain has 13 stones, GDF!!! Im sorry to say that it is already sold, but if this sparks any ideas that you wish to manifest get ahold of me and I would love to collaborate and come up with some new ideas !!!!

Amulet of Ambrose

Amulet of Ambrose

This is a piece I have been working on for about four months. It was a commissioned piece that I was given absolute freedom of design, this is what I came up with, hope you all enjoy!!! When asked to do this piece I was given all the stones and put to work. There are 29 Emeralds of different shapes and sizes, 2 Garnets for the eyes of the skull, and a Mouldavite and a Blue Tourmaline on the back!!! 33 faceted stones in all!!! Once again the piece is a locket and can be opened. This is by far the craziest piece I have ever made, and the most time I have ever spent on one piece, so enjoy!!!

Aqua Arrows

Aqua Arrows

This piece was inspired by a set of new engraving tools that I recently got. I got these tools to learn some different ways to set stones and quickly found many different uses for them. This is one of my new pieces and I am really stoked with the final result. This piece has an aquamarine that runs through the center and two faceted tourmaline as accents. The entire surface has been hand engraved to accent the arrows, even the bail and the top of the piece have been engraved. I put a patina on the silver to darken the engraved lines and really make the arrows pop.

Maya's Rose

Maya's Rose

This is a piece that I have had in progress for about a year on the dot. I made it for an old friend that truly deserves this piece!!! On the front is the first rose I ever cut out, the rose is backed by a heart-shaped rhodochrosite w/aquamarine cluster on the surfoce. On the back there is a blue tourmaline. The entire tourmaline spins on a center axis and acts as a worry stone. With this piece I put two small hinges on the back of the bail so when you open the piece it comes directly off the chain!!! Well I hope everyone likes this pice as much as she does!!!
