After focusing on bench work for a few years, this October(2006),I sat down and made a wrap just for kicks, the outcome amazed me, I moved leaps and bounds from my previous wraps.

I have had difficulties focusing on work since Tucson, I started this piece a few weeks ago. The channel with the spinels that fade into the spessartites was difficult, they taper in size and it was quite frustrating to get it to work. It is close to what I had envisioned.

I was reading the discussions on to bite or not to bite. So here is my input.
I create these peices because I have love for stones and love for metal work. I feel that anything you are passionate about, you put a piece of yourself into, whether it be riding powder on the mountain or spinning some wire, a little bit of me shines through. That makes it unique to me, no one can bite on the love I put forth.

I spent the most time I ever have on a wrap on this piece. I just went with it on this piece, paying attention to clean details. I named it horizon, due to the fact I think it shows a "new horizon" for my work.

This is a custom piece. The center tourmaline is from Maine and was kind of challenging for me to incorporate such a long piece into a pendant that was to be on the simpler side. The over all look is very differnent than the norm for me and I like it.
Had to drop this off tonight, not enough time to try for a really good pic!

I asked santa for a digital camera this year, I've been borrowing one everytime I need to take a pic, yet I guess i was not that good of a girl this year since there wasn't one under the tree. So today I went and treated myself to an overly high tech camera. I think the pics are coming out better but there are so many buttons that do so many different things, who know's which ould be best.
Thought I would just post the re-takes and keep experimenting!

So I was going for symetry on this piece, at first I was trying to symbolize a Lotus, after awhile I took a look at it and it appeared more like a Orchid. This piece was quite frustrating and I do feel certain sections may need a little TLC, but for the moment it is finished.

This piece is a lot different than anything I have done in a while. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. This piece has a fancy cut Pink Tourmaline from Brazil and a Green with Pink cap Tourmaline crystal from the Congo in Africa. It is made with sterling silver and 14kt gold.
* I decided to add a bit more silver, don't know if i like it better or not!?
